An ancient and sacred form of bodywork with a natural and holistic approach to health and well-being. This powerful modality (also known as Thai Yoga Massage, Thai Healing, Nuad Phaen Boran, or Nuad Bo’Rarn) was developed over thousands of years and is deeply rooted in Ayurveda, Yoga, Buddhism, and Thai Indigenous Healing Arts.

Thai Therapy is based on the belief that there are 72,000 energy lines in the body. Any imbalance, disturbance or blockage along these lines can cause pain, illness, and/or disease (dis-ease) on a physical, emotional and/or spiritual level. Thai Therapy focuses on 10 important lines, called sen sip. Releasing blockages along the sen lines, stimulates and balances the flow of healing energy within the body, bringing the person deeper into balance and harmony to experience greater health, ease, and wholeness.

Traditional Thai Therapy draws from an extensive variety of techniques including acupressure, kneading, rocking, rhythmic massage, percussion, reflexology, yogic exercises, assisted therapeutic stretching, energy work and meditation. These healing techniques serve to increase flexibility and range of motion, eliminate muscle pain and spasms, prevent injury, release held patterns of tension and stress, remove energetic and physical blockages, increase vitality, calm the nervous system, and promote a deep sense of relaxation and peace.

Thai Therapy is practiced on the floor. The fully dressed client lies on a pad or light mattress. An ingenious system of movements allows the therapist to manipulate the client without much effort. Every movement is designed to support the client. This session is given in silence to allow the therapist to understand the client and to give the client a chance to unwind and surrender. Beginning with the feet and progressing up to the head, the client’s body will be moved, loosened and stretched, harmonized and balanced. At the end the session, the receiver will feel grounded and relaxed.

Since this type of bodywork is suitable for body types of all ages, the practice is always tailored to suit the individual and personal needs of the client.
