Thai Yoga Therapy is an ancient and sacred form of bodywork with a natural and holistic approach to health and well-being. This powerful modality (also known as Thai Yoga Massage Thai Healing, Nuad Phaen Bo Rarn) was developed over thousands of years and is deeply rooted in Ayurveda, Yoga, Buddhism, and Thai Indigenous Healing Arts. “Nuad Phaen Bo Rarn” or Ancient Way of Healing with the Hands, is said to have originated in India over two thousand years ago by Shivago Komarpaj, a contemporary of the Buddha. He is revered, to this day, as ‘The Father of Traditional Thai Medicine.’
Thai Yoga Therapy is founded upon the understanding of life as energy (Prana, Chi) It is influenced by the Ayurvedic teachings on energetic flow along networks of channels or lines (Nadis, Meridians) in the human body. Any imbalance, disturbance or blockage along these lines can cause pain, illness, and/or disease (dis-ease) on a physical, emotional and/or spiritual level. Thai Yoga Therapy focuses on 10 important lines, called Sen Sip. Releasing blockages along the Sen lines, stimulates and balances the flow of healing energy within the body, bringing the person deeper into ease to create harmony, restore health and increase vitality and whole-ness
Thai Yoga Therapy is also a spiritual practice that nurtures the four Buddhist states of being: loving-kindness (Metta), compassion (Karuna), joy (Mudita), and non-judgment (Uppekha). This ancient healing art is a practical application of these four states of being, as well as a practice of mindfulness, awareness and meditation.
