Devotion in Motion: Shri Shri Bhakti Flow - Lunar Hip Openers
Often, yoga is loosely translated as “to unite” or “to yoke.” The word sadhana comes from the root word sadh meaning “to reach one’s goal(s)” or “to gain power over.” To reach one’s goals in the moving world, our movement must be devoted to that which moves all life. Each of us can observe how everything within nature is organized in a very special way. Recognizing this natural phenomenon within the moving world, we can see how something like the transition from day to night has the potential to support, move, and inspire us to live. Then, by aligning ourselves with these natural laws, we are capable of sustainably living our yoga sadhana. It is this level of intimacy with life that affords us the opportunity to experience every moment, every breath, every action as a living testament of our devotion to Source.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th . 1-3pm
Essence of Namaskar: Microcosm to Macrocosm
Loosely translated as salutation, Namaskar has an even deeper meaning that can support us in living in alignment with the natural law. Namah means “reverence” or when literally translated as “not me” is a negation of the self or ego. -as means “to exist” and -kar means “maker” or “creator.” When we practice namaskar we are making an offering to that which is the underlying current of intelligence that organizes and manifests all of existence. Knowing that we ourselves are also a part of that existence, we awaken to the knowledge that this same intelligence is a part of our essential nature. At its essence, even the vinyasa, sequential steps of a series of asana from simple to complex, of a namaskar affords it the same sense of completeness that is found within the cycles of all nature.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th . 930-1130am
Arjuna’s Arrow: Wisdom in Action - Solar Arm Balances
Within the Hindu epic of the Mahabharata, Arjuna’s arrow is used as a metaphor for wisdom, referencing the self-control and purposeful devotion required when wielding our greatest, most powerful weapon - the mind. Only through pin point, mental precision can we harness the power of life that resides within. It’s through this razor sharp, single-pointed focus (eka grata dristi), that we are able to utilize the concentration required to bring stability to our minds and begin to access the full potential of both our inner and outer strength.

25-HOUR THAI YOGA THERAPY TRAINING
led by Danielle Tridenti
COMING THIS FALL (OCTOBER/NOVEMBER)
Email email@example.com for more information
Considered to be a 2,500 year-old healing art, the foundation of Thai Yoga Therapy is the premise that all life at its most basic level is energy. And all dis-ease begins as an energetic imbalance long before there is physical manifestation of sickness. The 72,000 nadis, or energy channels, in yoga have been distilled down to 10 primary lines in the Thai system. Thai Yoga Therapy works these lines through assisted yoga stretches, compression-based massage techniques, acupressure, and energy work. This serves to bring more energy into areas of stagnation, relieve areas of energetic excess, and balance the whole body/mind/spirit temple. It is both therapeutic and preventative medicine.
Yoga teachers will be able to translate this work into partnered exercises in their classes and an entirely new toolbox of hands-on assists. However, anyone who has an interest in healing work is welcome to attend this training, NO prior yoga or massage experience is required.
Over the course of the 3 Day Intensive, you will learn:
- how to sequence and give a full-body Thai Therapy session that fosters a healthy body, peaceful spirit, and compassionate heart
- self-care and meditation techniques for the healer
- how to modify the work for common conditions
- how to approach the work Ayurvedically
- The Four Divine States of Buddhism and how they relate with the work
You will also receive:
- A Certification of Completion indicating 25 Yoga Alliance CE hours
- A training manual compiled by Danielle Tridenti with photos and descriptions of each posture and practice of a full-body therapy session
- A list of recommended reading and resources
- All necessary materials and props for the intensive will be provided by D’s Yoga Home
